BOULANGERIE ANGE

On the evening of July 28th, I went to the Ange bakery to buy several baguettes. To my great surprise, the saleswoman refused to sell us more than two baguettes per person, even though a "buy 3, get 1 free" offer was prominently displayed. I should point out that this decision was all the more incomprehensible given that the display was quite full: there were about twenty baguettes available for everyone to browse. And looking at the back, fresh from the oven, there were well over 40 more available. It was clearly not a case of being out of stock. Several customers present were also annoyed by this practice, which they found inconsistent and frustrating, especially considering the advertised promotional offers. I find this practice completely illogical. How can you offer a deal encouraging the purchase of multiple baguettes while preventing customers from buying the desired quantity? No clear explanation has been given. Except for legitimate reasons (out of stock, inappropriate customer behavior, etc.), refusing to sell a product to a consumer is prohibited by Article L121-11 of the French Consumer Code. In the absence of a valid justification, this situation is difficult to understand and particularly disappointing. For your information, I regularly buy more than 20 baguettes, and being told at 7 p.m. that there won't be any for others is not an excuse for refusal. They should plan to make enough.
